Quick lunch doodle, plus a short story my friend wrote about it.

‎”We are but dust and dreams adrift in the endless seas of night and eternity,” thought the giant thunder lizard as it passed the noxious gas that would be it’s undoing. “We are all insignificant in the dying light of long-expired stars.” Then it craned its great neck and gargantuan head toward the low-hanging moon and belched its final breath before the boiling world took it all back, and returned it to the dust once more.

creativecatlady asked: How did you get started on street art? Any tips on how to get started? This is something I'm interested in doing.

Answer:

I got started by makin’ stickers of little characters I drew doin’ things, and then moved up to wheat paste. I think stickers are a great thing to start out with I think, because they’re easy to make and you can learn how to be stealthy about it. Always use a pen with ink that can stand up to moisture. As far as printing goes: Printing black and white has always seemed to work best for me. Most printers have black ink that can withstand the elements. You can even get yourself some of those fancy vinyl stickers printed!

I moved up to wheatpastin’ after that, an activity best reserved for nighttime. I’ve done it by myself, but I would recommend doing it with a friend so you can trade lookout positions and be safe. Make your own wheatpaste glue, too! Biking is my preferred mode of transportation, but cars are great too.

If you haven’t watched Banksy’s “Exit Through The Gift Shop” yet, I would recommend you watch that and observe some different techniques and materials people utilize to make street art. There is also Streetsy, a little street art blog that might give you some inspiration, too. I’m sure they are also open to answering questions!

I hope that answers some of what you asked!

Madame Alexander doll. I’m unsure about the date it was made, but the face mold almost looks like it could’ve been made somewhere between 1950 and 1960.

Process video for the previous post. It was so difficult for me to decide between pink and green hair.
